Ministries

Children’s Ministry

Children are the future of the church. “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Pro 22:6)

There are many activities for children to be involved, learn, and grow as young people within our church family.

JAM (Jesus And Me)

Jam is a program that occures each Sunday morning at the worship hour. Just before the beginning of the sermon, the children (ages 3 – 2nd grade) are dismissed to the Social Hall. They will have an enjoyable time singing, making crafts and learning about the Bible, all designed specifically for their age range.

Bible Classes

We have a bible class for every age range on both Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. The classes are grouped into a number of age categories with the curriculum tailored to fit their needs. Sunday morning Bible classes are 9:45 a.m. till 10:30 p.m. Wednesday evening classes are 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Jr. Youth Rallys

A new trend which has begun to involve younger children are Junior Youth Rallys. Each year we host a rally at the Washington congregation. We also participate in surrounding congregations Jr. Youth Rally’s at Whitehall, Hermitage, and Grand Central churches of Christ. This is a day long event where the children absorb scripture though Bible classes, song, activities, and maybe a skit or two. The age range depends upon the hosting congregation as to who may participate. Our fall Jr. Youth Rally is for children ages 8-12 years old

Vacation Bible School

During the summer we host a Vacation Bible School (VBS) Much like the Jr. Youth Rally, VBS is a great time for children to make friends, have fun and learn about God’s word. The age range for our VBS is 3 year old through 6th grade. The dates and times vary from year to year. Watch our calendar for specifics.
